Drone show

Create a synchronized drone light show with 3ds Max and tyFlow
October 20, 2026

Drone shows turn hundreds or thousands of individual drones into spectacular synchronized displays in the sky. In this tutorial, we’ll explore how to recreate this effect in 3ds Max using tyFlow.

Hi there, I’m Anton

I'm an Animation Specialist at Brick Visual, specializing in compositing and visual effects. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for exploring new creative workflows, I enjoys turning complex ideas into simple, effective techniques. My tutorials focus on practical tips that artists can easily integrate into their daily projects.

What You’ll Learn
  • Work with sBspline, sElips and others
  • Animate text and place it in 3d space

‍

Where This Technique Is Useful

The same tyFlow workflow can be used for more than drone shows. It’s useful for creating particle animations that move toward target positions and form recognizable shapes, logos, text, or other patterns.

You can adapt it for motion graphics, procedural animations, futuristic HUD elements, crowd-like formations, and abstract particle effects. It’s also a great starting point for experimenting with large-scale coordinated animations in 3ds Max.
